Taronga Zoo is only a 12-min ferry ride away and a ferry departs the Quay every 30 minutes. Taronga Zoo is Australia’s largest Zoo and has amazing view over the harbour looking towards Sydney and the Opera House. The Zoo has been opened since 1916. Taronga Zoo is famous for hosting a variety of native Australian animals and great exhibitions of wild and endangered species, and is great for adults and kids alike. With all kinds of animals to see from kangaroos and tortoises to koalas and platypus – and all kinds of experiences including the famous seal show and bird show, talks and tours. This zoo is open every day including Christmas Day, so head across the road from the hotel and hop on a ferry at Circular Quay to the Zoo.
