Sydney Harbour is one of the most famous harbours in the world, and it’s just across the road from The Russell Hotel.
The Circular Quay ferry terminal has ferries and cruises that can take you all around the harbour. Our favourite ferry trips are –
- Manly: Is a 30 minute journey from the CBD. The ferry takes you from Circular Quay heading past the Sydney Opera House then past Fort Denison and the many beautiful bays around the harbour. This ferry journey is very picturesque and we recommend sitting outside if the weather permits. Once you arrive at Manly walk up to the end of the Corso where you will find the world-famous Manly surf beach.
- Taronga Zoo: Is a 12 minute journey from Circular Quay. This ferry service is a direct service and on arrival at the zoo we recommend taking the Sky Safari to the entrance of the zoo. The Sky Safari takes you across animal enclosures and make sure you look back towards the city to also enjoy the city view.
- Watsons Bay: Is a 20 minute journey from Sydney. The journey to Watson Bay will take you past Sydney Opera House, Double Bay and Rose Bay. At Watson Bay there is the famous restaurant Doyles and walking tracks around the southern headland of the harbour.
You can also take off from Circular Quay for sightseeing cruises, dinner cruises, whale watching cruises, and water taxis.
